i had my last practical today - it was a relaxed 3 hours, and i think it went fine - and my next task before going home for the weekend is moving out...
i hate moving. i've moved once a year since i got here (ok, so i've only been here two years). and i hate packing now. i hate looking at my own stuff. i don't know why i have so much stuff. i can't stand the sight of my laundry. i can't stand the sight of all the toiletries i have. i have enough cookware for an entire family. i'm throwing out a lot of kitschy items. you know, magazines, little doo-dads, containers, teeth, pencils, paper, little...THINGS! i wonder how i accumulated all this stuff. and then i think, when i die, these are the things they are going to find. embarrassing. so now, when i die, i want whoever is handling my "estate" to come into my western apartment and find only the bare essentials. here's what i consider my bare essentials: a table and chair, a stereo with a lot of classical music, my books, some clothing, a rattan bed, and my shiseido skin cleanser. and a few pictures. and a work of art. see? here i go again, listing more and more stuff. i think the trick is that you have to become less sentimental, and just throw out each and every scrap of paper some boy from grade 4 gave you during recess. or some boy from grade 7. and 8. and 9. and 11. and OAC. and second year university.
i'm still so....emotionally tired from the last two weeks. i almost broke down into giggles during oral radiology playing MASH, or trying to anyway, with krista and i even just let go and ate deep fried fish and chips AND a canadian maple bostom cream donut care of krista again. and Dr. Bohay kept making funny references to himself, he always refers to himself as simply "Bohay" and that made me laugh, heave in silent fits of laughter, because, man, i was just so tired. and finally a little free-er.
ok, back to packing.
