ah.....i have my cup of tea, my ella fitzgerald on the player, and some oral path notes in front of me. let's update the week. it was dental skit nite yesterday, an evening always guaranteed to bring laughter, as well as some cringes and groans...it's a welcome break from spending literally more than half of each day at school, drilling or obturating...actually, i don't really see it that way. i enjoy all the work we do, but i suppose it's the stress of memorizing didactic material (namely, oral pathology) that makes me shake my fist at the skies a bit. anyway, each year prepares a skit, essentially designed to poke fun at our professors, and the jokes range from complimentary to very harsh, and are always quietly (or not so quietly) nuanced with any issues surrounding the students or faculty in general. so, topped up with beer and cocktails and the token silver sequined blazer in the style of Dr. A, it makes for a very interesting night...

it's laurie's birthday on tuesday, so a bunch of us went out to under the volcano for some yummy mexican food and my first plate of paella. i love going out with my class. however tired i am, or bummed out from reading oral path all day, they always manage to get me howling out in laughter. especially esam, not only because he emulates our profs to a T, but cause he just seems to have the most interesting run-ins with our instructors.

anyway, that's just a quickie and now it's back to work.
