aaaaaaaaaaaaah! i just got back from a grrrrreat weekend in montreal with my class and a thousand other dental students from across canada...and future-dentists will not be boring people, i can assure you, and may even have shady pasts, like this one guy i saw, who had an exotic chinese-like tattoo character on his neck (YES, across his jugular)...

it was a weekend of partying that almost compares with that of my undergrad days in terms of intensity and running on no sleep and baring skin in the middle of winter and forging ahead in the dead of a storm to get to a dance floor and giving false names and numbers to people and eating fries and crap food like that for fuel, and i'm so exhausted right now, but so excited still, and it's as if i've started a race (a dancing, clubbing race) and have suddenly had to withdraw...sometimes i scare myself with the willingness i have to want to be a klubkid as my life occupation! it's so refreshing sometimes to be so mindless and flirtly and without true responsibility and revert into a total social butterfly and meet friends of a friend of a friend... instead of being that person who drills three times a week after hours and then heads to the library to crack open a chapter on oral cysts in a cement-block ugly library, and reads stuff like "The Pound Era" for fun.
just to clarify, yes, this was a dental student conference, and indeed, i was interested in some of the english sessions (the rest being in french), but it turned out that by necessity, most of them turned out to be conducted in french, and there was really only 2 you could go to, and one sounded like a research-oriented presentation on hypnotic analgesia. so, the weekend, in terms of interesting sessions, was heavily catered toward the french-speaking students, which was a little disappointing for me - the french sessions had interesting titles! the mystery "dental games" night turned out to be a room full of bouncy castles and bull riding (gokhan twisted his wrist on that - not a suitable game for dentists?) and midway fair-type things, with some over-sized tricycles....which was a stupid event, in my opinion...there are better ways to take advantage of the time, having hundreds of dental students together on one city...but the banquet on sat. nite was gorgeous...it was in a large hangar-type place, with a kind of "central train station" type feel, and here was where i had the chance to meet so many old friends and meet new ones...even the U of T girl who'll be going to vancouver with me to the pacific dental/cda-dentsply thing for research.

anyway, i'll stop there for now. i'm tired, and there's too much i could write, and apparently people think i use too many words...i added a montreal folder to my picture album, so occasionally i'm swipe pics from billy or jesse's site, but be sure to visit their sites for a full plethora of montreal pics!
