oh my gosh.
go look at jesse's website. there are the most unflattering pictures of me ever ever in the whole entire univerise.....oh well, i have no pride, it's ok, they can be posted and you can look at them.
i just thank the heavens above that i wasn't drooling. and note how angry i look even though i'm sleeping and supposedly at peace - which is what a good friend of mine (he's really such an odontogenic cyst) pointed out today. anyway, my friends took a picture of that guy, and i thought they were laughing about him, but it turns out they were also laughing at me.....it's funny to be the butt of a joke!
it's almost exam time - it's becoming drill drill drill fest and study marathon in weldon. funny, it doesn't feel like exams are that close...
with all this drilling to do, sometimes i feel like....like i just can't complete that MOD and restore it within the next hour. it's not that i can't or i don't know how - but it's as though i just don't have the patience! - even though my technique, i know, is not perfect. take for example, drilling and making a provisional for a posterior porcelain fused to metal preparation and provisional restoration. Part one takes an hour (for us, at this level), and part two takes a minimum of half an hour, if you take into account fine tuning and even a second provisional, in case of cracks or really open ugly margins in the first one. there's at least 2 hours, right there. take drilling an MOD. in first year, it took us a long time. a box took me at least half an hour. now i can do a box in a good 5 or 10 minutes, but doing a complete MOD still takes me a while - and restoring it with composite! i've just started to master working with it - before, i would cure and cure and cure but it would still be mushy. i would push it around and it would crackle and complain and get all bumpy and ugly, but only after it cured, and then it was only finishable with a bur, but even that puts a pretty rough surface on it. of course, glazing it with that heavenly substance called resin made everything all right, but the disclosure today that we couldn't use resin for our exam - forced me to really work with the stuff, and now, after at least 5 ugly ugly composite restorations, i think i've got the hang of it.
anyway, with all this studying to do, it's hard to think about anything - rather, it's easy to get distracted, but as for thinking about life and rearranging the order of your best dolls - that must wait a bit. it's all go go go right now, but i suppose, but only if that's how you think. if you keep your little rituals - the once a week this, a twice weekly that, or daily deep thoughts (a la jack handy), you'll survive.
this is what my mom always says "you are a suh-vi-vah!"
