i can't believe what kind of a week it's been! i'm so exhausted, but it's the kind of exhaust that is exhiliarating and keeps you from sleeping....now that the week is over, i should be able to sleep profoundly tonight.

every day has been chock full of dentistry. seriously. from morning (early morning! like 8 early!) until late late night, sometimes 5 or 6 (which is late, for some people) and even until 10. every block of free time was swallowed up by record base construction, occlusal rim construction, master cast production, composite filling, provisional-making, anterior and posterior crown preparations. if i didn't like dentistry, this week would have been one long, drawn-out exercise in endurance and patience, but it was a fun week, a good week, in more than many ways. i quite like what we're doing - it's artistic, it's hands-on, it's relevant and practical, but it's also very knowledge-based. it's so involving. hmpf.

it always helps to see the comical in times like these - harmeet always makes me laugh. he started gluing his occlusal rim directly onto his stone cast today - and i found out this week that allison listened and memorized the very same "rose petal place" musical tape (probably disney - a great musical, and probably my first foray, at age 5, to my love for musicals) - we sang and sang while we were pouring up casts. and it was strange - that tape came out more than 20 years ago, and probably we both haven't heard it for almost as long, but we knew every word, even from the start of the tape ("i am elmer, the ancient elm tree. i've lived here behind the old house...". and genevieve is always there to be tired every morning with me, and despite that, she still greets me with a smile and "hello my favorite friend!". and jesse will make funny triad creatures with our triad scrap and cure them. and as well, for other reasons, i'll never forget this last weekend and the past week. it's been a tumultuous experience...

anyway, for all those i haven't seen in a while, i'm thinking of thou.
