i'm so tired....

it's been a long day, and tomorrow will be another long day, and this week has been so busy and hectic that the week has gone by without so much as my noticing the days. no time for reflection, in the style of mulan. i wish there were more time - in the short week that has passed (mind you, it has only been two weeks since school started), so that i could actually talk to people and reconnect, and then have the energy to talk about things not related to dentistry, since dentally-related things are, these days, always flowing through the sieve that is my mind. it's like a sand of dentistry, and it pours through my brain...(i've been told that my analogies and similes and metaphors are geeky).

and now, i've got a scratchy throat. i feel as though i've been running on empty. i eat, and then before i know it, i'm walking to and fro from my locker to the sim clinic, lugging curing lights and boxes of rimlock trays, sweating (like a pig, as my colleague jeff informed me today) and hungry again. on wednesday i did have a break, but i spent that time lugging a big plastic shelving thing from zellers to my dental locker, rearranged my entire dental kit (now my locker is the picture of cleanly perfection), and when i got home, i found out that my ikea furniture had arrived, so i sweated some more (all i do is sweat!) and put together three major pieces of furniture in under two hours...(i had a keg appointment that night). i put together this practical ikea enetri shelving unit (it was big, not that easy), fiddled around with this PS armchair (i'm giving you the descriptors so that you can look em up in the catalogue), and a lack table. lack tables are easy to assemble. wow, my prose is really boring - i'm so tired i can't think!

anyway, so, after all that lugging and building, my arms hurt, but i went through three hours of impression lab this morning, making impressions from edentulous forms, spent even more time trying to get the bubbles out of the stone pour up, spent my lunch hour doing that too (and then, after three hours of lecture, went back to continue getting bubbles out of my stone pour up)...and then, after i gulped down some soup, semi-hot only, microwaved, from a plastic container, in less than 5 minutes, i went back to drill come cavity preparations, and then spent forever using our new composite kit. i guess it might have been easier had our operative lecture included a composite demonstration, thus we would not have been like little anchovies, flailing around in hot water, but there we were...actually, composite is cool. there are several types, like flowable, compomer, the other solid-ish type...and they come with cool names like wave and glacier and come in cute syringe packages.
