song of the day: somebody, by depeche mode. i never get tired of this song. it might just be one of my most favoritest songs.

film of the...well, for a long time: bowling for columbine. have you seen it? you really should. i don't remember being moved between tears and laughter back and forth so many times. it's one of those films that great masses of people should be forced to watch over and over until they understand the sarcasm and the idiosyncracies at work in the world, the irony and simultaneous tragedic nature of (gun) violence, fear, politics, and the media at play. i saw it at "UWO cinema" tonite with terminalis - the joy of a school cinema being cheap prices, leading to overindulgement (popcorn with unhealthy butter and salty toppings and sugary sugary drinks).

finally UWO has decided to open up another cardio room. but this summer. i went to work out just now, and i was there at 9:30, thinking that it would be rather empty. every machine was busy! i had to wait a while. i suppose they realized that a single classroom with 5 bikes and 10 trainers and 6 treadmills couldn't possibly service an entire university. now they need to open up more registrar's offices, simply because waiting in line is an incredible waste of time, and things aren't accessible. and they need better food services. college meal plans with food that makes you happy to be there - not whatever the London cows regurgitated. and more space and rooms and chairs for loitering. more old, burgundy-woodened spaces, cloistered spaces. and architecturally stunning study spaces in the libraries. just looking at U of T's new space in gerstein library, trin's graham library, and vic's pratt library actually makes me want to study, just to sit in that space. UWO needs better administrators and fundraisers. and a shuttle service to each apartment building (or just mine) on richmond. and personal shoppers who will do your errands. and mandatory professional massages. and heated portals from building to building. and cake stands and roast chestnut vendors on every corner. and hot dog vendors (where are they?). and music piped in as if the sound came from...everywhere! give me that and you've got a working university.

early class - must sleep.
