it's the most wonderful time...of the year!!! back to school. aaaaaaaargh. it was nice to see all the dents kids, however.

i COULD NOT get into a deep deep REM sleep last night and i spent the whole day with my eyes burning from fatique, and although i held out okay during anatomy lecture...by the time occlusion rolled around i slept through a lot of the "articulator" videos...zzzzzzz....

what a way to start the year! a nice little session in the anatomy lab, cutting out the brain. first, PORAGE and BIGHEAD would not do a SINGLE THING except be the "reader" and the "skull holder" and inSISTED that me and terminalis (now it's krista galli!) lift the head of our cadaver and put that terrible horrible wooden block beneath it's shoulders. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!
okay, so we did that. then i was responsible for bagging the brain. i held a plastic bag underneath the head and let the brain plop into it. brains are neat. it's quite surreal to be holding the soul, computer, and consciousness of another (deceased) human being. then you think "hey, i have one of these too" or "just under this flap of skin is my external jugular vein!" and it seems so easy and feasible to raise a flap of skin (like Commander Data) and examine your own internal tubing.

in occlusion we just received these wildly expensive articulators...mechanical machines that mimic your biting motions. funnily, a lot of what we do right now has the "arts and crafts" bent to it, and so today consisted to mixing up stone that has a working time of like 0 seconds, and plying it onto these immaculate white casts of teeth, and fitting it into this weirdo articulation contraption. anyway, this was the last thing i wanted to do today - get my hands all wet and cold (AND i cut my finger which still hurts so i more didn't want to do this), get started on something that requires a bit of precision and adeptness, do some thinking...ya know...and i don't know how i did it, but with my sore finger and my cold hands, i sanded down stone into a smooth finish. took me forever!

i apologize for that grammatically awkward passage. i had planned on going to the grocery store, and i was actually exceited to head down to this place that just opened up at the gates, called sabatini's. i was hoping they would be sensible and have like fruit and vegetables and pesto and kale and radiccio and broccoli but they had nothing! it's a stupid food store. they have pasta, sauce, tortilla and salsa, a lot of prepared food to go (which is good, and CAKE which i must admit, it a VERY GOOD THING) but they literally had 5 green peppers and 10 kiwis and 3 yellow peppers and 1 tin of cherry tomatoes and that was their produce section. booooo. so i had to make do. i went home, and instead of using a pesto, i made a vinaigrette. instead of brie, you use mozzarella. instead of mango-papaya-orange juice, you have toilet water. instead of truffle oil, you use poo. you get the idea.

so, with vinaigrette and mozzarella and toilet water and poo in my stomach, i will now (attempt to get my stomach pumped) leave you.
