studying pharmacology has been (annoying) kind of interesting. DRUGS! NARCOTICS! when i study drugs like hallucinogens, and read that they can create an extremely prolonged period of hallucination where eventually you start to panic and have really bad images, i wonder how it is people can get addicted (it must be the colorful, floating imagery that precedes it). if alcohol can give you a "fatty liver", and alcohol withdrawal may cause you to die, and getting off of heroin and stuff results in really uncomfrotable stages of awake and yen sleep, it's hard to imagine why anyone would start.
but sitting here...i'm getting an idea. i'm sick! i have a cold. i'm taking robitussin, which works wonders for my symptoms, but it also keeps me awake and alert (pseudoephrine). i can't take it before bed, or even a few hours before bedtime, i've discovered, otherwise i'll be too awake to sleep. i have a headache too, right now. and a slight fever. i took an advil, and just swallowing that thing made me feel better - ah! the promise of relief! and my back is starting to ache - i've been changing sitting positions every hour, every 20 minutes....and eyeing the professional sample of "Robax platinum" i got in the mail (analgesic and muscle relaxant - which i won't take, although i'm curious, because it has sedative effects...gen path is tomorrow, can't sleep now!).
here's to ibuprofen.
