ah...the problem with blogs. you can never be totally honest. everytime i write, i have to keep in mind that there are at least five sets of friends who might potentially see this, thus making the extent of my honesty - not that extent. this makes for, i guess, a boring blog. no salacious gossip!
ANYWAY. i took pregnancy and rolo to the jasmine party...each probably went for different reasons. i went to support an old friend (or, at least, her sister jaclyn, who is the managing editor and with whom i shared my very first harmony 3 experience with golf-ball-eyes McKinnon, many years ago), but the two i brought...probably went for the promise of good-looking asian guys and the promise of a decent party where there would be no high school punks eerily looking you up and down, but instead, high-flying interesting people with a bent for the literary (especially the fledgling literary).
for me, it was like a mini-reunion. i saw kat again, and as well mark m. (the illustrious author of the strange messasges in my guestbook, who i might happily say is sun-kissed and a dirty-golden-blonde right now) and the other mark, my high school workout buddies. hannah (of recent muchmusic fame) emcee'd the event, and it was neat to see people approach her as a celebrity - nervously approaching, extending a hand...and to babble on and on like a stupidhead about people i met - i ran into andrea, who is a friend from long long ago, almost a decade, i guess - we took royal conservatory summer school downtown together and wrote ridiculous cutie letters to each other after that. she planned the event. it's such a small world.
i only have three more weeks of work left, and after that, school will start in a few weeks. the summer has passed so quickly. a summer i thought i would spend mostly in isolation and in solitary literary retreat, reading all sorts of things - has turned into weeknights where i don't know how the time passes so quickly (eating a lot of wings and watching movies seems reminiscent here) and where don't get the sleep i wished i could have had, and weekends where i barely get to see my parents or even sleep in my own bed - although that was the initial purpose of coming back into the city every weekend. both of my homes this summer are just places to store my bags. i haven't even changed the broken blinds in this apartment, haven't done a thorough cleaning yet (i've been here at least 9 weeks), and one of these days i need to hijack another chair and another table, and another bookshelf.
i'm listening to this "trinity" cd that bashley made for us bridesmaids...it has each of our three favorite songs, and like a real cd, contains neat collage pics of us - heads posted on the bodies of nubile schoolgirls, fashion models, matrix-characters...
night.
